Lost-device recovery
Recover administrator access
Use your existing administrator password and one saved passkey recovery code. Successful recovery blocks your old passkeys and signs out existing sessions. You must create and confirm a replacement passkey and save new codes before signing in again.
Step 1 of 4: Recover your account
Step 2 of 4: Create your replacement passkey
Your device or password manager will save the passkey. Give it a name you will recognize later. Next, we will check that you can use it.
Step 3 of 4: Check your new passkey
Your passkey has been created. Use it once here to check that it works before you rely on it. Choose Confirm new passkey and approve the device prompt.
Next: save your recovery codes. Your passkey cannot sign you in until you finish that last setup step.
Step 4 of 4: Save a way back in
If you lose access to your passkey, one of these codes and your existing administrator password let you recover your account. Each code works once. Save all ten somewhere private and separate from your device.
After saving the codes, tick the box and choose Finish setup. This activates your passkey and opens the sign-in page. Then choose Sign in with passkey to open administration.
Already started or interrupted? Resume setup returns you to the next unfinished step. It will not create another passkey.
If Resume setup says your recovery permission has expired, use another saved recovery code or ask your local operator for help. Do not repeatedly submit the same code. If all devices, codes or the recovery password are lost, a separately approved local recovery procedure is required.
